The OEB has issued a Notice of Proposal to amend the Standard Supply Service Code (SSSC) and Regulated Price Plan (RPP) Manual to enable electricity consumers on the Regulated Price Plan the option to enrol in an Ultra-Low Overnight Price Plan, starting May 1, 2023.
The OEB is holding an Innovation Sandbox Challenge, a one-time funding opportunity of $1.5 million to support innovative projects in the energy sector and provide Innovation Sandbox guidance. The Challenge will tackle a specific theme that matters to the sector, and the OEB is seeking input on what that theme should be.
In response to a recommendation from the OEB’s Regional Planning Process Advisory Group (RPPAG), the OEB has issued a Bulletin that clarifies that a local community may choose an alternative solution to the optimal (i.e., most cost effective) solution identified to meet a need determined through a distribution planning or regional planning process, based on local preference. It also provides guidance in relation to how cost responsibility should be addressed in such cases.
